Mobility Issues

The X2011 West Convention Committee is committed to providing tour capability to all convention attendees and, as such, has arranged several prototype and general interest tours that have full accessibility for attendees with mobility issues. We have attempted to indicate home layout and prototype locations where accessibility is particularly friendly or unfriendly to attendees with limitations. Our Tour Desk staff can help with questions about particular locations.

Mobility issues come in a variety of levels and we respect that differing levels require differing accommodations. While virtually all of our buses can accommodate folding wheelchairs and powered scooters with folding handlebars, for attendees capable of boarding without assistance, only tours marked as handicapped accessible are scheduled to have buses capable of power lifting wheelchairs and securing them on-board.

In order to use the full potential of our buses, however, and not reduce the seat capacity for other attendees, we need to know about your needs in advance if you require the use of a lift and on-board wheelchair use.

Please contact Dennis Stokely, X2011 West Outside Activities Manager, at outsidemgr@x2011west.org as soon as possible, or at the time of registration in order to secure the wheelchair configuration.
